Warren County Jail Roster Lookup

The Warren County jail roster shows who sits in custody right now. You can search by name to find a booked person and check basic custody facts. Most people start a Warren County inmate search when a friend or family member gets arrested. They want to know where the person is held and how to reach them. The roster is a current-custody tool. It is not a full criminal history, and it does not track people sent to state prison or federal facilities. Names, charges, and bond change fast, so the data refreshes often. Knowing how to read it saves time and worry.

Warren County Jail Roster Overview

The Warren County Sheriff's Office runs the county jail and keeps the public custody list. The Sheriff's jail information page sends searchers to one tool for who is in custody. You can see that page at the Sheriff's jail information page, which links the search and lists jail services. The same page gives the mail address, phone vendor, video visit vendor, and commissary options in one place.

Below is how the Sheriff's office presents that jail information online. The page is the official starting point for any Warren County inmate search.

Warren County Sheriff jail information page for inmate records and roster search

The custody list itself lives on a separate portal run by the jail's software provider. That portal holds the live roster and the search box. It updates on a set schedule, so a brand new booking may take a short time to appear.

The roster only shows people held in the listed Warren County jail. It does not show people in Ohio state prisons. It does not show people in federal custody. It does not list immigration detainees or folks held in other counties. If someone leaves the county jail for an Ohio prison, the county roster may drop them. For state or federal custody, you need other tools covered further down this page.

How to Use the Warren County Inmate Roster

The custody portal is the Warren County / Miami Valley Jails site. You can open it at the Warren County persons in custody portal, titled "Warren County, Ohio - Persons Currently In Custody." Here is what the live roster portal looks like when it loads.

The portal opens with a provider table and a name search bar. At inspection on May 25, 2026, the roster count was 285 people. That number shifts as people are booked and released. Follow these steps to run a search.

  1. Open the persons in custody portal in your browser.
  2. Type a last name in the search bar. You can add a first name to narrow it. You may also click a letter from A to Z to browse by last name.
  3. Press Search to run the lookup and review the list of matches.
  4. Pass the security check. The site shows a CAPTCHA and asks you to type the code to prove you are human before it lists results.
  5. Click a matching name to open that person's profile and read the booking details.

The provider table shows the jail code, the jail name, the current population, the jail phone, how often the data updates, and the last update time. At inspection the data refreshed every 30 minutes. So the count and the bookings stay close to live but are not instant.

Roster Search Fields

The portal keeps the search simple. There is no advanced filter for charge type or housing unit. You search by name or browse by the first letter of the last name. The table below lists each field on the search page and how it works.

Field LabelTypeRequiredNotes
LastTextOptionalTop search bar. Accepts a last name.
FirstTextOptionalTop search bar. Accepts a first name to narrow the list.
SearchSubmit buttonn/aRuns the name search.
Search by Last NameA-Z linksOptionalLetter links A through Z browse the roster by last name.
Provider table headersColumn linksOptionalSort by code, name, population, phone, update frequency, and last update.
CAPTCHA codeTextRequiredAsked before result browsing. You type the shown code to prove you are human.
ContinueSubmit buttonRequiredSubmits the CAPTCHA so results can load.

The CAPTCHA matters. The site blocks automated programs and asks each visitor to prove they are human before it shows the name results. So you cannot script the roster, and you should plan to type the code by hand each session.

What an Inmate Profile Shows

Some data is public before the CAPTCHA. The provider table shows the jail code, jail name, current population, jail phone, update frequency, and the last update time. The individual profile fields sit behind the security check, so they were not confirmed at inspection. The table below splits what is visible without the CAPTCHA from the fields that likely appear on a profile once you pass it. Treat the second group as expected, not verified.

FieldWhat It Shows
Jail CodeVisible without CAPTCHA. The facility code, shown as WARR-JAIL.
Jail NameVisible without CAPTCHA. Listed as Warren County Jail.
Current PopulationVisible without CAPTCHA. The roster count at inspection was 285.
Jail PhoneVisible without CAPTCHA. The jail contact line for custody questions.
Update FrequencyVisible without CAPTCHA. How often the roster refreshes, shown as 30 minutes.
Last UpdateVisible without CAPTCHA. The date and time the data last refreshed.
Inmate NameLikely on profile, behind CAPTCHA. The booked person's full name.
Booking NumberLikely on profile, behind CAPTCHA. The unique number tied to that jail stay.
Age or Date of BirthLikely on profile, behind CAPTCHA. Helps tell apart people with the same name.
Booking DateLikely on profile, behind CAPTCHA. The date the person was taken into custody.
ChargesLikely on profile, behind CAPTCHA. The counts the person is held on.
BondLikely on profile, behind CAPTCHA. The amount or type of bond set, if any.
Housing or LocationLikely on profile, behind CAPTCHA. The unit or pod where the person is held.
Court InformationLikely on profile, behind CAPTCHA. The court handling the case or hearing.
Release DataLikely on profile, behind CAPTCHA. Release date or status when listed.

Because the CAPTCHA blocks bulk access, the profile fields above were not confirmed one by one. Verify the live details on the portal itself. And do not treat the roster as a full record. It is current-custody data only.

Warren County Jail Facility

Warren County books people into one main jail run by the Sheriff's Office. The facility sits on Memorial Drive in Lebanon, the county seat. The contact card below gives the address and phone for custody questions. Call ahead before you visit, since rules and hours can change.

Sheriff's Office fax: 513-695-1286

The Sheriff's Office uses the Memorial Drive address as its official contact block. The same phone line appears on the custody portal's provider table as the jail's number. Use it for booking and custody questions, not for court hearing dates.

Booking Process in Warren County

After an arrest by a Warren County agency, a person may be taken to the Warren County Jail or another holding spot. Which one depends on the agency and any warrant. Booking usually includes identification, a booking photo, a property inventory, and a medical and security screening. Staff then enter the charges or warrant and assign housing based on classification. Once that is done, the person should show up on the custody roster after the next update cycle.

A person held on a new charge must get court process. That can come through County Court, a municipal court, Common Pleas, or another issuing court. Bond may be cash, surety, recognizance, a 10 percent option where allowed, or a no-bond hold. A felony arrest often means an initial appearance in a lower court, then a grand jury indictment or bindover to Common Pleas. Once a case is filed in Common Pleas, the court docket can show the arraignment, bond, plea, and sentencing. A warrant from another county, another state, or a federal agency can keep someone held even when the local charge looks small. So check for holds and the issuing agency if the profile shows them. For new misdemeanor or traffic cases, the citation controls which clerk to call. For the underlying case file, see criminal records.

How to Contact an Inmate

Families can reach a held person by mail, phone, and video visit. Each path uses its own vendor and its own account, and the money for each is kept apart. You cannot call a housing unit directly. Inmates start phone calls through the jail's phone vendor, so an outside caller sets up funds and waits for the inmate to call out. For video visits, the jail names Homewav as its provider. Set up the account and verify your identity well before the visit time.

Mail goes to the jail's published address. Use this exact format and write the inmate's full name on the top line.

The official page does not publish detailed mail rules such as postcard-only limits, photo limits, or legal-mail handling. So confirm those with the jail before you send a package. Do not add unofficial booking-number formats unless the jail tells you to.

The federal Bureau of Prisons runs a separate locator for people in federal custody, which the county jail does not cover. You can reach it through the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator. The screenshot below shows that federal tool.

Use the BOP locator only when a person is in federal prison or marshal custody. For county custody, stick with the Warren County roster.

Commissary, Phone, and Inmate Funds

Money for a held person is split by service. Commissary funds buy snacks and basics. Phone funds pay for calls. Video funds pay for visits. Tablet funds load the in-pod tablets. Each one runs through a different vendor, so pick the right account before you pay. The table below lists each service, its vendor, and how to reach it.

Commissary deposits go through Keefe and Access Corrections. You can add funds at the lobby kiosk, by phone, or on the web. The Access Corrections site handles that. You can open it at the Access Corrections deposit site. The image below shows the commissary deposit provider.

Phone funds run through ICSolutions, a separate account from commissary. Add money by phone or on the web through the ICSolutions phone deposit site. The next image shows that phone vendor.

Video visitation uses Homewav. The jail names it as the video visit provider, and you fund and book through it. Set up your account at the Homewav video visitation site. Here is what that provider looks like.

Tablet funds run through JailATM. These dollars load the in-pod tablets, not the phone or commissary accounts. Add money at the JailATM deposits site. The image below shows the tablet funding tool.

Because each vendor is separate, money in one account does not move to another. Send funds to the right place the first time to avoid delays.

Visitation Rules

Warren County Jail names Homewav as its inmate video visitation provider. The Sheriff's page gives funding options but does not publish a full schedule, visit length, ID rules, or visitor approval steps. So check Homewav and the jail for current availability, account setup, fees, identity checks, and blocked times before you plan a visit. Visits can be cut for lockdowns, discipline, medical quarantine, court transport, or system outages. Do not rely on old third-party schedules. Confirm the live rules each time, since jail policy can change without much notice.

Notifications and Outside Custody

The county roster only covers current jail custody. For release alerts and broader custody status, other tools help. VINELink sends free notifications when a custody status changes. You can sign up at the VINELink notification portal. The screenshot below shows that service.

VINELink, the BOP locator, and the sex offender registry serve different needs. VINELink handles alerts. The BOP locator covers federal custody. The sex offender registry tracks registered offenders, not current jail bookings. You can search registered offenders nationwide through the National Sex Offender Public Website. The image below shows that registry.
